Would you like to stand where Jon Snow first met the dragons? Take a selfie in Monument Valley on the exact spot where Forrest Gump finally stopped running? Walk the streets you saw on The X-Files? Take a trip to distant planets seen on Star Wars? We've done all of this and much, much more... and now we help other people find their best film destinations for their next adventure by collecting all our travel stories in our blog Fangirl Quest.
Since 2013, we've been traveling to locations seen on film; famous movies, popular TV shows and some of our very personal favorites. Our filming location guides now appear on Google's first page on many location related searches and we work closely with tourism authorities during our trips to ensure both our and their audiences get the most out of our content and features.
Film tourism has been a growing sector in travel for years now, and it isn't slowing down. Cheaper air travel and active fan pages and location info online is helping people visit these incredible places which were earlier really known by location managers and film-makers. Our location maps and so called Sceneframing photos taken on locations have spread like wildfire among similar-minded travelers and almost by accident, turned our blog into a part-time job on the side.
And we love what we do!
One example of a very interesting journey to filming locations is our roadtrip in Northern Ireland done in collaboration with Discover Northern Ireland. They've managed to turn the frenzy around the world's most popular TV show into a successful campaign and we were lucky enough to be a part of it.
In 2018, we toured dozens of locations seen on the show, posting live updates on social media and sharing Sceneframing photos and travel stories afterwards. We've also built filming location guides on our website and have been positively surprised by the feedback from fans who travel in our (and their favorite characters'!) footsteps to various locations both in cities and somewhere "in the middle of nowhere" in less known destinations.
Film tourism is fun, immersive and at best, a very unique and memorable experience to the traveler.
Our mission now is to fill our website with inspiring stories from all the places we've seen on screen and after, in real life!
