Along with your full name, phone number and email address, please tell us about your favorite or most memorable ‘sounds of travel’ — and why you like them. Send your picks to Peter Mandel at firstname.lastname@example.org. The most interesting submissions and feedback Peter receives will be included in an upcoming Boston Globe travel article. Deadline: May 15th, 2018.
These could be sounds that evoke destinations (like roars of a Botswana lion or the evening call to worship in Istanbul). Or they could be the sounds of the ships or trains or planes that carry us away from home (say, barge-whistles on the Seine or the clackity-clack of a crowded train between Moscow and St. Petersburg.) Or, perhaps, even the sounds of language, or regional music, or another sort of travel sound altogether. It’s up to you.
Please share this announcement, and pass the word to other travelers you know. We’re looking forward to seeing (or, er, hearing) what you come up with.
